Horsted hits target

THE Bluebell Railway’s appeal to finance the repair of leaking roofs and the replacement of rotting beams at Horsted Keynes station has hit its initial £500,000 target. The heritage line has announced that the appeal total as of December 31 was £513,000 and it expects to reclaim more than £30,000 of Gift Aid from HMRC, making a grand total of £543,000 to date. Initial repairs to the station house and platform 5 are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
