More L&BR trackbed acquired by Exmoor Associates

EXMOOR Associates completed the purchase of a further length of Lynton & Barnstaple Railway trackbed on December 27. The roughly 620 metre section is located south of Wistlandpound.

A future revived Lynton & Barnstaple Railway will require a new formation to the north of the original alignment at this location to gain sufficient height to circumnavigate Wistlandpound Reservoir, which was built following the old line’s closure. At the southern end of this section the original trackbed was converted into a road by the local authority.
