Tramway repairs required at Birkenhead

BIRKENHEAD Heritage Tramway was temporarily closed from mid-December because of engineering problems.

A joint statement from Wirral Borough Council and the Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society said that MTPS had called in independent rail consultants following issues with pointwork at Woodside Ferry.

They also identified other work, which was needed on the line and, consequently, the decision was taken to stop services until the completion of necessary repairs.

Wirral Transport Museum remains open from 13.0016.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
