Landport viaduct strengthen­ed

Rail engineers finished strengthen­ing Landport Viaduct, Portsmouth, one of the city’s most prominent Victorian railway structures. The 1876-built metal viaduct, which supports two platforms at Portsmouth & Southsea station, had 10 of its 17 spans strengthen­ed in January

2021. The project is due for final completion in May. The work meant no services to Portsmouth Harbour for eight days during January.
