Tesco launches twice daily refrigerated service to Scotland

-

TESCO has increased its use of rail in transporting supermarket goods with the launch of a twice daily service using refrigerated containers.

Although the company has been using trains to transport supplies for its stores since 2008, in the UK it has not utilised them previously for chilled goods.

Direct Rail Services is operating the seven days a week diagrams between Tilbury and Coatbridge, which began before Christmas, using its Class 88 bi-mode locomotives.
