Energy project at Streatham Hill
OVER 500 solar panels have been installed on the roof of Govia Thameslink Railway’s Streatham Hill depot, to generate electricity. Community benefit society Energy Garden has installed the panels, which are expected to generate over four million kilowatt hours of electricity over the next 20 years. GTR will purchase 42% of the annual output to power the depot during the daytime and the remainder will be used by other businesses which are aiming to improve their environmental sustainability.
