CLASS 156s FOR BARTON:
Following the withdrawal of the remaining Class 153 single-car diesel units with East Midlands Railway, services on the Bartonon-Humber route were taken over by Class 156s from December 13, meaning that trains on the line are compliant with accessibility regulations. Having been crewed by TransPennine Express colleagues on behalf of EMR since the line was transferred from Northern last May, trains are now being staffed by EMR senior conductors, but Freightliner crews have assumed temporary responsibility for driving the units while EMR drivers are trained.
No. 156473 stands at Barton-onHumber on December 22.
