Australian diesel back in pre-Privatisation livery

-

AUSTRALIAN preservation group 707 Operations recently repainted ex-Victorian Railways EMD G6B locomotive No. Y 127 into the tangerine and grey V/ Line livery that was used on all Victorian Railways (V/Line) locomotives in the 1983-1995 era, prior to Privatisation of the freight and passenger network in the state. No. Y 127 is the first operational main line locomotive to be repainted into this livery in the 21st century.

To launch the repainted livery, the locomotive hauled a private train over the Castlemaine to Maldon branch line, which is now operated by the Victorian Goldfields Railway, on Sunday, October 31, 2021. This was also the first working of a 707 Operations train into Maldon and over the heritage group’s line.
