Preserved Essex HST launch day

THE High Speed Train vehicles preserved at the Colne Valley Railway are to be launched on April 16. Unlimited train rides will be on offer, and the HST buffet will be open selling light refreshments. Prebooking is strongly advised.

As previously reported, 125 Heritage purchased three power cars and three former LNER trailers in 2021, all of which now reside at the Essex heritage line. They comprise ex-EMR power cars Nos.

43073 and 43082 (which are powered by VP185 engines) and former Great Western No. 43071 (which has an MTU engine).

Coaches include Trailer First Buffet No. 40706, Trailer Guard’s Standard No. 44058 and Trailer First Class Open No. 41088.
