‘Jinty’ rewheeled

A milestone was reached with the overhaul of LMS ‘Jinty’ No. 47493 at the Spa Valley Railway’s Tunbridge Wells workshops on January 22, when the frames of the 0-6-0T were reunited with its wheels for the first time since 2015. The boiler, which is currently at North Norfolk Railway Engineering (NNRE), has continued to make solid progress over the last 18 months. NNRE has now been given the go-ahead to finish the works on the boiler and it is hoped it will return to Kent this year.
