‘Pacer’ progress

STEADY progress continues to be made on preparing the Nene Valley Railway’s (NVR) Class 143 ‘Pacer’ No. 143602 for public service. Tasks being carried out ahead of crew training include fitting wider step-boards similar to those on the resident Mk.1 carriage fleet, to fit with the NVR’s Berne-gauge platform edges. In late January, the ‘Pacer’ was stabled near the A1 bridge at Wansford.
