PM visits raillinked quarry
THE Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Secretary of State for Wales Simon Hart paid a visit to Hanson’s Penmaenmawr Quarry on January 28, to see how £300,000 has been spent on the renewal and reopening of its rail facilities.
As reported in the February issue of The RM, the first loaded aggregates train for almost a decade operated in December from the quarry sidings.
Penmaenmawr will supply Hanson’s aggregates market in the North West of England through trains to its Tuebrook and Wigan depots.
