Branching into HSTs

SOUTH Devon Railway Engineering (SDRE) has won a contract to carry out repairs to Colas Rail HST power car No. 43277, one of five power cars used on Network Rail’s test trains carrying out track inspection. Having arrived by road on March 11, the work at Buckflastleigh will include component renewal and a repaint. SDRE workshop manager Rob Evans said: “This is a great step forward for South Devon Railway Engineering as we branch out into new areas of work for the business and look forward to the new challenge this will bring our skilled team of engineers.”The power car will not be available to view during the majority of its stay as it is located in areas of the workshops that are inaccessible to the public.
