April opening for new Poole Park Railway?

-

IT IS hoped the Poole Park Railway, Dorset, will reopen in April – although by mid-March a date had yet to be announced.

The 10¼in gauge line closed in 2018 due to staffing problems and safety concerns. The owning Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council has always claimed it would rebuild and reopen the line, but this has been delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reconstruction officially began on December 6, following removal of the old track and demolition of the engine shed.

Track Systems UK is providing the track and engine shed, along with a steam-outline batteryelectric loco and carriages.
