AMONG the many events planned for this year at Midsomer Norton South station, Somerset, are a number of days specifically for nonsteam traction. The railway has received Class 107 DMU, DMBS No. 52006 and DMCL No. 52025, from the Avon Valley Railway where it had not been used for some time. In addition to appearing at the April 22-24 gala, it is due to work the standard timetable on April 11, May 30, June 3, July 25 and 29, August 1, 5, 8, 12 and 15. The timetable shows trains departing at 11.00, 11.35, 12.10, 12.45, 13.20, 14.15, 14.50, 15.25 and 16.00. All-day rover tickets have been reintroduced this year and are valid on all trains throughout the day. The spring gala will also see resident Class 03 No. D2128 and Class 08 No. D4095 in operation.

Wickham Wednesdays

Following the very popular Wickham trolley rides in 2021, these will be running again this year. These unique trips cover the full length of the operating line, giving passengers a great view of what has been achieved so far in restoring the Somerset & Dorset line towards Chilcompton. Rides take place from 10.00 with the return trip taking approximately 20 minutes. Each run starts and finishes in the station yard at Midsomer Norton. There are two ticket options: £5 for adults and £2.50 for children aged 4-16. Children aged three or under travel free. The capacity of the Wickham, No. B40W, is restricted to six in total per trip.
