New head of engineering at Northern

TONY Plumbley has been named as Northern’s new head of engineering.

He joins the operator from Merseyrail, where he was head of fleet and engineering.

Mr Plumbley will take charge of major fleet projects and will also handle schemes aimed at improving the maintenance and performance of rolling stock at Northern.
