Lord Hinton up for sale

CLASS 37 No. 37409 Lord Hinton has become the second Class 37/4 (after No. 37405) in Direct Rail Services ownership to be put up for sale as part of the company’s programme to dispose of heritage locomotives. It had the honour of working the ‘Cumbrian

Coast Class 37 Farewell Special’ on January 11, 2019 (with No. 37425) and the last timetabled ‘Wherry Lines’ loco-hauled service on September 21, 2019 (with No. 37424).

Also advertised in this third phase of disposals are Nos. 37038, 37059, 57003

(at Crewe) and Nos. 37259, 57007 (at Carlisle Kingmoor with No. 37409). Bids must be submitted using the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s online tendering service by 13.00 on May 23.
