Ivatt tank to help mark S&D anniversary

BR Ivatt ‘2MT’ No. 41312 is to visit the Somerset & Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton in September. The line has confirmed that the 2-6-2T is booked to haul passenger trains over the weekend of September 17/18 as part of the 60th anniversary commemorations of ‘The Last Pines’. The event is expected to be popular and tickets will entitle the holder to one trip behind No. 41312 at an allocated time. However, ticketholders will be entitled to unlimited rides on a train hauled by one of the railway’s resident steam locos. Although No. 41312 was not an S&D loco, members of its class were based for a period at Bath Green Park and were seen hauling local passenger trains.
