Busier times return

SPRING brought some of the busiest periods since before the Covid-19 pandemic for a number of heritage tram attractions.

Operating for three consecutive days (April 16-18) during the Easter holidays, Manchester’s Heaton Park Tramway carried around 800 passengers.

Heading into the last week of April, organisers of the Blackpool Tramtown tours at the town’s Rigby Road depot reported their busiest week since they were launched in September 2021.

There were full trams at Beamish Museum, giving the County Durham venue its highest passenger numbers since 2019.
