Halle 902 returns from extended Blackpool ‘holiday’

-

AFTER almost four years in Blackpool, Halle No. 902 is in offsite storage following its return to owner the National Tramway Museum. The vehicle’s seaside holiday for display and storage was originally expected to last for two years from May 2018, but disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic saw its stay at the heritage tram depot on Rigby Road extended. It arrived back from the North West of England on a low loader operated by Scott’s Heavy Haulage on April 22. Built in 1969 by Prague-based CKD Tatra and converted to a ‘double-ended’ vehicle in 1984, it was withdrawn and moved to Crich in 2005 where, converted from one metre to standard gauge, it saw two years of use.
