New platform for Barrow Haven
LINCOLNSHIRE’S Barton-onHumber branch is to see the installation of a new platform at Barrow Haven.
The existing platform on the single line will be removed and replaced with a new, 60-metre-long structure. Work began over the weekend of May 7/8 and will continue until August 8. Until work is completed, no trains can call at Barrow Haven and passengers will need to use New Holland or Barton-on-Humber.
East Midlands Railway is contributing a further £26,000 to fund a new waiting shelter, cycle racks and station signage as well as a solar-powered help point.
