‘CHOPPER’ IN THE VALLEY:

Michael Owen’s Class 20 No. 20048 is on a six-month hire to the Severn Valley Railway (RM July, p84) to help with the increased use of diesels on coal-saving duties. It is also substituting for Class 17 ‘Clayton’ which is away visiting the West Somerset and Chinnor & Princes Risborough railways. The ‘Chopper’ worked the 16.35 Kidderminster to Bridgnorth on June 17 and is seen waiting to depart with the LNER teak set.
