LMS 10000 project needs £30,000 to secure unique components

-

THE Ivatt Diesel Re-creation Society, which is building a fullsize working replica of pioneer LMS Co-CoDE, No. 10000, set up the President’s Centenary Appeal before the Covid-19 pandemic. This raises funds for essential and unique parts as soon as they become available.

Some major components will be available this summer and an estimated £30,000 is needed to secure and transport them to the group’s base at Wirksworth, Derbyshire.

The items required include engine spares, traction motors, and bogie parts. Most are in the UK but some are in the Netherlands. The appeal has already raised £58,000 from supporters, enabling many vital parts to have been secured already.

The society is asking those wishing to support this project to make a donation or loan to enable the completion of the rolling chassis.

Visit www.lms10000.co.uk for details of how to contribute. All donations count towards the ‘Benefits for donors’ offer, as explained on the website.
