‘PACER’ AND SHUNTERS PERFORM AT PLYM VALLEY:

Ex-GWR Class 143 ‘Pacer’ No. 143618, which recently arrived at the Plym Valley Railway (RM July p85) entered traffic at the heritage line on the first day of the July 2/3 transport event. Also in use were early Class 08 No. 13002 and a pair of industrial diesel shunters. No. 10077 (Sentinel 10077 of 1961), a 4wDH, is pictured leaving Marsh Mills with the 16.00 to Plym Bridge; 0-6-0DH No. 429 River Annan (Ruston & Hornsby 466618 of 1961) is at the rear. Sunday was ‘steam day’ but also included ‘Pacer’ No. 142023 and the diesels. The last train to leave Marsh Mills was hauled by steam loco Albert and the Sentinel on the front, with River Annan and No. 13002 on the rear, returning in the same formation with the ‘Gronk’ leading.
