ECCLESBOURNE ‘DELTIC’ FAREWELL DELAYED:

The Deltic Preservation Society’s (DPS) No. 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier ran three round farewell trips on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway (EVR) on July 5. It then departed for a spell on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway (RM July p84), including the DPS 40th anniversary celebrations. The EVR farewell day was delayed by a week because of track work taking place at Duffield on June 28. The Type 5 heads the 14.15 from Duffield and is viewed from the road bridge at Wirksworth as it is about to enter the station.
