Planning approved for Forth Bridge experience
PLANNING consent for Network Rail to develop a site at South Queensferry to create a single-storey reception hub and car park for the Forth Bridge experience has been approved by City of Edinburgh Council.
The reception area will be where visitors are fitted with safety harnesses for the bridge walk and briefed before being taken to the bridge access point in groups of 12 to 15. They will then be taken to the south cantilever and finally to a viewpoint at the top using walkways built into the structure.
Network Rail has begun the tendering process for the project, but there is no date yet for when the bridge experience will open.
