Pleas entered in Croydon case

TRANSPORT for London and Tram Operations Ltd have pleaded guilty to health and safety failings relating to the November 2016 tram derailment at Sandilands Junction in which seven passengers died and 51 were injured. The court action has been brought by the Office of Rail & Road. Alfred Doris, the driver of the tram, who is also being prosecuted, pleaded not guilty. Following an initial hearing at Croydon Magistrate­s’ Court on June 10, the case has been sent to Crown Court.
