South Shields simulator

A SIMULATOR which will allow Tyne & Wear Metro drivers to gain experience in preparation for the arrival of the system’s new Stadler-built train fleet, has been installed at the Nexus Learning Centre in South Shields. Contained in a full-size cab, it will give a fully-immersive experience of driving on all parts of the network in varying weather conditions and scenarios.

The first train is due to be delivered later this year.
