LRSSB outlines its vision for the future in business plan
THE Light Rail Safety & Standards Board (LRSSB), the organisation responsible for driving improvements in light rail safety, has set out a threeyear business plan designed to give a clear vision for its future. LRSSB chief executive Carl Williams said that confirmation of £3.3 million of Department for Transport funding has put it in a position to accelerate its “ambitious” delivery programme. Earlier this year, a review by the Office of Rail & Road made recommendations for a longterm strategy and developing stakeholder engagement. Also incorporated in the plan are the development of an integrated framework for risk management, upgrading a database for incident reporting and a commitment to produce new safety guidance. The LRSSB also pledges to drive innovation and explore new commercial opportunities.
