Wheel drop boosts flexibility

A WHEEL drop pit has been added to one of the roads of c2c’s East Ham depot. As well as allowing completed wheelsets to be removed without lifting vehicles, including the operator’s new Class 720 ‘Aventra’ trains, it has been fitted with hydraulically-operated doors which it allow the space to be used for the removal of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units when the pit is not in use.
