Bricks by rail
WELL done Neal Taylor of Bridgend! My mother (born 1910 and no longer with us) had an uncle who was a travelling rep for Hamblet's. He went everywhere by train accompanied by a (hopefully) small suitcase of miniature bricks of every description. The company's blue engineering bricks were said to be second to none.
Hamblet's marl hole (the source of the clay) was a major feature in the West Bromwich landscape for many years. Dennis Onions Shrewsbury
