Donations to Colonel Stephens related projects

THE Colonel Stephens Society (CSS) has donated an additional £250 to the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, towards restoration of ex-WDLR Baldwin 4-6-0T No. 794 (being restored ‘as’ No. 590 which was scrapped in 1942), and £500 to the Ashover Light Railway Association to purchase more track for its Butts Pasture recreation at Rowsley. CCS offers grants towards heritage and preservation projects associated with the former light railway empire developed by Lt-Col Holman Fred Stephens (1868-1931).
