‘Deltic’ No. 55009’s recent movements

DELTIC Preservation Society’s (DPS) No. 55009 (D9009) Alycidon completed its Great Central Railway running days on August 14. Since the loco returned to service for testing it had accumulated about

700 miles without a failure. It joined sister No. 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway on August 18 for the DPS 40th anniversary of ‘Deltic’ preservation, August 19-21 (RM July p84). No. 55009 was then moving to the Severn Valley Railway on August 22.
