Cable damage delays line opening

PLANS to reopen the line between Brixton and Beckenham Junction on August 1, following nine days of work to replace the track inside Penge Tunnel, were delayed after the discovery of a damaged cable in the tunnel during final checks. Repairs were carried out in the following days overnight.
