Dogs on board trams

FOLLOWING a manifesto pledge from Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, a three-month trial allowing dogs on board Metrolink trams began on August 1.

Up to two dogs per passenger are permitted, on condition that they are wellbehaved and kept on a lead. Owners must ensure animals are properly hydrated and clean up after them.

Mr Burnham is urging tram users to give feedback on the trial, which runs until October 31, in order to establish if it should be a permanent move.
