Nottingham Eastcroft upgrade completed

£2.56 million depot investment has increased stabling capacity and improved facilities.

-

MODERNISATION at East Midlands Railway’s Nottingham Eastcroft depot has been completed on-time and within budget.

Work began last year on the project to create more room for stabling trains at the site which maintains Class 156, 158 and 170 DMUs from the EMR Regional fleet.

More fuel pumps have also been installed and improvements made to train cleaning facilities.

Agreement

An agreement was reached between EMR and Network Rail to jointly fund a new lighting system for the depot, intended to improve safety, bringing the total spent on the scheme to £2.56 million.

EMR fleet director Neil Bamford said: “The improvements are a significant upgrade to the city’s depot and will help to improve the overall service we can provide to EMR Regional passengers – providing our teams with more flexibility and resilience.”
