RESCUE RELAY:

Soho depot in Birmingham hosted vintage traction during the Commonwealth Games in the form of two Rail Operations Group Class 37 locomotives. Nos. 37510 Orion and 37800 Cassiopeia were placed on standby for the recovery of any failed trains which could have had an impact on travel during the event. No. 37510 (seen here outside the depot) has Dellner couplings and No. 37800 is tightlock coupler-equipped, giving the ability to cover the majority of eventualities between them, if they had been needed.
