SINGLE LINES

■ HUDSWELL 0-6-0ST Slough Estates No. 3 (1544/1919) is at the beginning of its overhaul at Moor Road on the Middleton Railway.

The locomotive is in reasonable condition and it is hoped to have it back in service in time for its centenary in 2024 following overhaul and retubing.

■ UNIQUE Peckett 0-40T Marcia (1631/23), a resident of the Kent & East Sussex Railway (KESR), was exhibited at the Weald of Kent Steam Rally near Tenterden on August 6/7.

One of the smallest locos on the nearby KESR, the loco acted as an ambassador for the railway during the event.
