MILESTONE DEPARTURE:

-

The Plym Valley Railway celebrated 40 years of residing at its Marsh Mills base with a gala over the weekend of September 3/4. Carrying a commemorative headboard, Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST Albert (2248/1948) heads up the bank out of Marsh Mills with the 15.15 to Plym Bridge. Ruston Hornsby LSSH 0-6-0DH River Annan (466618/1961) was on the rear. The timing was just about a perfect recreation, as the 1955 timetable shows the 15.10 Plymouth-Launceston service as departing Marsh Mills at 15.17, arriving at Plym Bridge at 15.21.
