RTC to run Armistice Day charter
An Armistice Day special around Kent on November 11, planned by the Railway Touring Company will be using LMS ‘Jubilee’ 4-6-0 No. 45596 Bahamas as its motive power. With a leisurely start from London Victoria at around 10.50, the ‘Kentish Belle Armistice Day’ special will run via Dartford, Gravesend,
Faversham and then take the line via Whitstable and Margate, around the Kent coast to Dover Priory, then under the White Cliffs, Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel terminal back to London via Ashford and Bromley.
Fares are £99 standard class (£70 junior or £303 for family), first class £165 adult (£105 junior and £488 family of four) with premier dining fares at £259 adult, £169 junior and £771 for a family of four). First class passengers will be served tea or coffee, a breakfast roll, and tea and scone in the afternoon.
