East Linton progresses

THE installation of two lift towers for the new £15m East Linton station beside the East Coast Main Line in East Lothian was completed by September 2. Using a 500 tonne crane, the work was carried out by contractor Bam Nuttall across two nightshifts. Network Rail said the station footbridge is due to be installed in October. The original East Linton station closed in 1964.
