New timetable proposes more commuter services

-

IARNRÓD Éireann published its proposed new rail timetable on September 19, and is due to come into effect from early December. The new timetable proposes additional train services in the Dublin commuter belt to and from Newbridge, Hazelhatch and Kilcoole – plus extra services to and from Mayo, Carlow and Tullamore. There are also journey time improvements on the Limerick to Ballybrophy (via Nenagh) line, reflecting the recent investment in CWR on the line, but no additional services. In conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA), IÉ is planning to implement timetable alterations from December 11 and members of the public are asked to submit feedback in advance of the finalisation of the new timetable. Visit www.irishrail.ie/ en-ie/ for details. IÉ said, along with the NTA, it has identified opportunities for service improvements “in the context of post-Covid travel patterns, as demand recovers strongly”.
