BLS arranges farewell tour for Class 315 EMUs

A charity railtour on November 26 has been arranged by the Branch Line Society (BLS), with train operator MTR Elizabeth Line to say farewell to the Class 315s and raise money for The Railway Children. Two identical tours will run, starting at London Liverpool Street station, one in the morning the other in the afternoon. The route will be London Liverpool Street – Stratford (P8) – Stratford Country End Crossovers and then the down main to Shenfield (reverse), Ilford, Up passenger avoiding line to London Liverpool Street. Here, the train will again head to Shenfield, before a final run back to Liverpool Street. The afternoon tour is a repeat of the morning tour. All passengers will be invited to a special presentati­on at Liverpool Street, including commemorat­ive speeches by representa­tives from MTREL, TfL and the Class 315 Preservati­on Society. This is due to be held between the morning and afternoon services. As part of this presentati­on, there will be an opportunit­y to view inside an Elizabeth Line Class 345 and purchase souvenirs from the Class 315 Preservati­on Society. Fares are £31.50 per person.
