SEVERN VALLEY CELEBRATION:
CrossCountry power car No. 43366 was named HST 40 at Kidderminster on September 27, marking 40 years of High Speed Train operations on the North East-South West route. No. 43366 and Intercity ‘Executive’-liveried No. 43184 (43384) worked a special service from Leeds and along the Severn Valley Railway, the tour raising money for the Railway Benefit Fund. CrossCountry managing director Tom Joyner and Martin Dean, chairman of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, are seen after the unveiling. GB Railfreight Class 66, No. 66799 was also named Modern Railways – Diamond Jubilee. As part of its own 60th anniversary celebrations, the publication was a partner in the event.
