CrossCount­ry power car No. 43366 was named HST 40 at Kiddermins­ter on September 27, marking 40 years of High Speed Train operations on the North East-South West route. No. 43366 and Intercity ‘Executive’-liveried No. 43184 (43384) worked a special service from Leeds and along the Severn Valley Railway, the tour raising money for the Railway Benefit Fund. CrossCount­ry managing director Tom Joyner and Martin Dean, chairman of the Confederat­ion of Passenger Transport, are seen after the unveiling. GB Railfreigh­t Class 66, No. 66799 was also named Modern Railways – Diamond Jubilee. As part of its own 60th anniversar­y celebratio­ns, the publicatio­n was a partner in the event.
