New life for former Rhyl tramcar body at the Sherwood Forest line

RHYL Miniature Railway’s (RMR) tramcar – which ran for the last time in this form on September 25 before withdrawal for conversion into a new coach (RM, November) – returned to Rhyl’s metals on October 13 with its new body largely complete, now as coach No. 9. Having passed clearance and air-braking tests, the vehicle went back into the workshop where the woodwork was finished off, with painting commencing at the beginning of November. The old body, having been carefully removed, has gone to the Sherwood Forest Railway, where the intention is to return it to service following rebuilding in the company of other coaches by the same designer.
