MARCO MAMA, THE WORCESTER BACKROWER, CHOOSES THE BEST XV HE HAS PLAYED WITH OR AGAINST...

-

1. Mako Vunipola –Val Rapava-Ruskin could be in the same league soon, but Mako is a hell of a player, very consistent, has international experience, is a Lion and an old schoolmate.

2. Schalk Brits – Incredible attack, he’s not the best rounded hooker in terms of scrummaging, but attack-wise he has ridiculous footwork for a hooker.

3. Dan Cole – Scrummaging is all you want from a tighthead and he can certainly do that, every loosehead fears him and he can get you five penalties a game easily.

4. Bakkies Botha – I played against him for the Barbarians. He is a freak, an angry man, you know if you run down his channel that he is the enforcer!

5. Ali Williams – Played against him when he was at Nottingham. He would go well with Bakkies, he has a cool head and is a very skilful player.

6. Nathan Hughes – He’s huge, I know he’s a No.8 but I reckon you could play him at six, and I’m so happy he and Billy Vunipola played together for England

7. George Smith – Not only good over the ball but a typical Aussie footballer. He is very savvy, he picks his battles really well, he can kick, pass and he’s powerful.

8. Billy Vunipola – You can hit him as hard as you like and he will still go forward. Looking at his age I think he has the potential to still develop and be incredible.

9. Francois Hougaard – He saved Worcester’s season last year so he deserves it! I probably didn’t realise how good he was until I saw his impact at the club.

10. George Ford – Probably the best ten I’ve played against, he is small in stature but he puts people in holes. He can make you look silly in the backfield with his kicking game.

11. Frank Halai – Frank the tank, he is huge and I think there is still more to come from him this season. A big winger but so skilful as well.

12. Manu Tuilagi – He is a freak and ridiculously fast for his size, incredibly powerful. He will get you across the gain line every day of the week.

13. Jonathan Joseph – The man with an incredible outside break, good ball player, solid tackler, can step off both feet. He has massive gorilla hands and I went to school with him.

14. Bryce Heem – Definitely my player of the season last season, the avatar. He is a freak, so strong, rangy, always beats the first man and a good team player.

15. Charles Piutau – He’s fast, has got good feet, he’s still developing and, hopefully, he will go back and play for the All Blacks. I think he could be one of the best players in the world one day.
