Huddersfie­ld stretch clear with Hull win

WITH the Cleckheato­n v Rossendale game off due to the weather Huddersfie­ld are now 16 points clear at the top of the table after disposing of Yorkshire neighbours Hull 31-7 at Lockwood Park.

Brandon Conway, Joel Hinchcliff­e, Elliott Hodgson and Nick Sharp crossed for a try each for the league leaders, with Chris Bell landing three conversion­s and a penalty and Hinchcliff­e successful with one conversion. Wirral, who beat

Billingham 32-17, are now level with second place Rossendale with the east Lancashire club just ahead on points difference.

Ali Baker, James Annetts, and Mark Wilson were the try scorers in their victory.

There was also a penalty try with Craig Harvey kicking three conversion­s and two penalties.

For Billingham, who actually led 14-5 at the interval, Anthony Jackson and Tom Briggs both went over for tries that were converted by Dan Finney who also slotted a secondhalf penalty.

There was some rejoicing at Blundellsa­nds where next-to-bottom

Waterloo beat Ilkley 1513 with the last kick of the game to move within three points of Morley, whose game against Sandal was also called off.

Jacob Allen and Irwin Marderwald crossed for the home side with Liam Reeve adding a penalty and the late conversion to wrap up the game.

Stockport managed two tries through Keiron Hibbs and Paul Ralph while Scott Redfern was successful with a conversion and a penalty in a losing cause.

In the final game of the round Lymm were 18-14 victors at home to Kendal in a tight encounter.

Cormack Nolan and James McEvoy, who also kicked one conversion and two penalties, were the try scorers for Lymm.
