TJs stay top with impressive away win

TONBRIDGE Juddian hung onto their slender lead at the top of table following a 39-18 win away at Guildford.

George Lawson, Murray Galbraith-Lowe, Adam Darracott, Cole Campbell, Will Ward and Stephen Neli were the tryscorers with Liam Prescott adding three conversion­s and a penalty for TJs.

Wimbledon kept up the pressure, just one point behind having beaten

Westcliff 43-0. Dave Bennett, Dylan Thomas, Matt Gilbert, Dan Cheers, Rhys Morgan and Roy Godfrey all crossed with Morgan slotting four conversion­s and penalty and Cheers one conversion.

Chichester dented Hertford’s ambitions beating the third-placed side 30-22 at Oaklands Park. Jack Bensall, Chris Johnson and Harry Seaman crossed for tries

all converted by Taff Davies who also slotted three penalties, the final two to seal the win.

Hertford’s loss proved to be Westcombe Park’s gain as the Goddington Dene side beat Amersham & Chiltern 57-15 to move into third spot. Frankie Neil led the way with a hat-trick and three conversion­s followed by Anthony Hitchcock, Alex Campbell, Harry Sansbury, Tom Clarke, David Bonner and Mark Davey who went over for one apiece, James Cameron adding three conversion­s.

Shelford and Dorking fought out a 23-23 draw at the Davey Field with the visitors taking the lead for the first time in the closing minutes only to allow the home side come back with a late try and conversion. Simon Hrbek, Scott Jackowski and Josh Simmons who also kicked two penalties and a conversion were the try-scorers.

Guernsey beat Sutton & Epsom 28-12. Sam Steventon, Dave Davidson and Adam Nixon were the home try-scorers all converted by Owen Thomas. For the visitors Stefan Cooksammy and Ian Nott crossed.

In the final game of the round next to the bottom

Colchester pulled off an unexpected victory beating Southend Saxons 31-18 at Mill Road. Joe McMillan, Rob Pickhard, Danny Whiteman, Te Albert and Damian Bramley were the try-scorers with James Crozier adding three conversion­s.
