HUDDERSFIELD continue to power away at the top of the table after a convincing 28-16 win at third-place Wirral.

Callum Thompson kicked off the try-scoring for the hosts before Adam Malthouse grabbed a second. They were then awarded a penalty try, but the hosts were a little disappointed as they failed to find the bonus-point score.

Fly-half Chris Bell completed the hosts tally with 13 points from the tee, made up of three penalties and two conversions.

Rossendale took advantage of Wirral’s defeat to tighten their hold on second place with a dominant 41-10 victory away at Doncaster Phoenix.

The visitors led 17-10 at the break before turning on the style in the second half to win comfortably.

Hull continued their good form with an emphatic 76-7 victory against bottom-of-thetable Stockport.

Joe Martin particularly impressed for the hosts in the 12-try mauling, scoring an exceptional brace as the Yorkshire side recorded their third straight league victory.

Billingham continued their fine form with a third consecutive victory, a home win over Morley.

The visitors had raced into a 21-15 lead but four tries after the restart saw the hosts storm back to complete a 39-31 victory.

Josh Armstrong’s try for Billingham late in the day robbed Morley of a losing bonus-point their performance deserved.

Meanwhile, Kendal outscored Cleckheaton three tries to one as they eased to a 22-7 win.

Chris Park kicked the hosts into an early lead before Josh Hall’s converted score turned it around.

Nevertheless, two tries before the break, which included a fantastic finish from Robbie Collinson, ensured Kendal led 15-7.

Kris Britton’s secondhalf try then secured an 11th win of the season. Second-bottom Fir

wood Waterloo have now won two of their last three home games after easing to a 31-12 win against

Lymm at Blundellsands. Tries from John Cunningham, Jacob Allen and Jack Weare secured the win while Liam Reeve was as reliable as ever, kicking 16 points from the tee.

Elsewhere, Sandal were narrow 18-13 away winners at Ilkley.
