It’s six of the best for brilliant Bridge
STOURBRIDGE made it a sixth consecutive win, picking up another try bonus point in the process, as they proved too good for Blaydon.
However, they did not have it all their own way, with Blaydon’s lively young backs keeping them on their toes for much of the encounter.
But the home side surrendered possession at crucial moments and once they tired, Stourbridge took full advantage by running in three tries in the last ten minutes.
The visitors opened the scoring on 22 minutes when Joe Heatley strolled in from a disastrous long pass by Blaydon, but were soon in arrears when Keith Laughlin charged down a clearance at the other end for home fullback Nathan Bailey to touch down.
A penalty try just before the interval, when a Stourbridge scrum was adjudged to have been illegally pulled down, made it 8-14 at the break.
Stourbridge winger Dan Rundle crossed for try number three. And having soaked up home pressure, Stourbridge broke out down the left led by Afeafe Haisila for replacement Nick David to run in a simple score.
With the home side running out of steam, Stourbridge finished strongly and with tries from Sam Wilkes and Haisila sealed the win.
